I live! Ok, maybe that was over-dramatic. It has been far too long since I last posted. The reason I have been gone so long is because we got hit by a tornado, and I had been busy trying to get everything fixed. Great news, no one was hurt! There was damage to the roof, and one of the outbuildings was basically totaled, but that is just stuff, and stuff can be replaced.
I’ve lived in tornado alley all my life, and this is the first time I ever personally took a direct hit by a tornado. The funny part is that the weather radar on the phone (our only source of the internet at the time) was frozen. The whole time we were in the thick of things, it read that we were having a light rain. My kids were scared until they heard that and then spent the rest of the time telling each other, “Don’t worry, it’s only a light rain.” God’s got a great sense of humor and knew just what they needed.
Thank you everyone who was praying for us. It has meant the world to us. We finally have the roof finished after over a month and way too many setbacks and complications. It’s been a learning experience, but what part of life isn’t.
While I haven’t written anything since we were hit, I am going to be restarting things this week now that life is getting back to normal. Well, normal for me. Thankfully that comes with cooler temperatures. I mean, baking cookies on the dashboard of the car is only fun for so long. Mmmm! Cookies!
